Bighorn Leadership Cohort
The Bighorn Leadership Cohort is a place for teens to grow as leaders, learn more about following Jesus, and use their strengths to serve others. Participants will spend two weeks in Western Montana developing foundational skills in three key areas: leadership training, technical adventure skills, and spiritual application.
Imagine stepping into a new challenge with a small group of friends. There is likely to be a swirl of emotions and responses as you begin to decide how you should navigate all the decisions ahead. Confusion may emerge, and without clarity, the group might fall apart.
At Camp Bighorn, leaders are encouraged to maintain a non-anxious, influencing presence. This means staying connected to your people while detaching from all the swirling emotions. Participants will be placed in small groups and led through a variety of team challenges geared towards providing victories in everyone's individual strengths.
Communication, group dynamics, conflict resolution, problem solving, and personal responsibility to both God and others.
Technical Adventure Skills
Learning technical adventure skills is one of the many ways people are empowered at Camp Bighorn. If you've been here in the past, that's obvious.
Participants will be taught industry standard skills from Bighorn staff members so they can safely navigate the outdoors, both on land and on the water.
Intro to rock climbing, belay school, white water rafting, white water kayaking, canoeing, and high ropes course navigation. Advanced skills options available.
Discipleship is a term we use to describe a collective pursuit of living like Jesus Christ. Every challenge, relationship, and activity at Camp Bighorn is built on this understanding, because according to Scripture, nothing is gained without embracing love the way that Christ modeled it.
Discipleship, Biblical understanding of love, identity in Christ, persevering through hardship, humility, and response to authority.
