Summer Recap

What a Summer!

We are praising God for a fantastic summer! After the past few years of constant changes due to COVID, we are grateful for a smooth summer. Eight weeks of camp flew by! Since our last update, we have had the following camps:

-3 youth group church camps
-2 high school camps (open enrollment for Bighorn--backpacking and rock climbing)
-1 AWANA church camp
-1 American Heritage Girls backpacking group

We thoroughly enjoy hosting church youth groups. This summer, we had two returning churches and one new one, all from Western Washington. It's wonderful to partner alongside other ministry leaders to reach youth.

Our summer staff were a solid group of leaders for facilitating both cabin groups and adventures, as well as serving countless hours in the kitchen washing dishes. We cannot run a summer to this level without them (as we learned during COVID), and we love having them here. They make Bighorn come alive. We are also very grateful to our volunteers this summer, many assisting in the kitchen. If you were one of those volunteers, THANK YOU! Your background service made this summer possible.

Camp Bighorn is a place where people--kids and adults alike--can escape their normal, daily lives and retreat into the beautiful wilderness to find rest in God. Campers often say they feel close to God here. Thank you for our partnership with us as we continue to love others and develop leaders for Christ.
