Summer is Here!

Here at Camp Bighorn, summer officially started on May 29th! That week, we welcomed our summer intern team. We have 12 volunteer interns from all over the country (and even one from the Netherlands) who have come to both disciple summer staff and to serve around camp.

Approximately 20 summer staff arrived on the next week--the first full week of June. Ages 13-18, summer staff have volunteered to serve as facilitators, technical adventure coordinators, and ops/kitchen team members for up to eight weeks of camp.

The next two weeks were packed full with trainings, led by Bighorn staff. Topics included facilitation, technical adventure coordinating, Bighorn policies, and first aid/CPR. Additionally, these weeks are a time of bonding between the interns/summer staff as they come alongside Bighorn staff to form our summer team! We are very excited about this summer's team of individuals!

Already, we have kicked off our first two weeks of camp! Week one was Day Camp--our offering for local kids. We had 82 kids for a week full of adventuring and learning to seek for God. Week two was a double camp--Jr. Camp and Middle School Camp--for a total of 76 kids!

Our summer theme is "Come and See;" and we hope that as people come to Bighorn, they will see the goodness of God. Keep scrolling to see pictures of training and these beginning camps. We hope you see the goodness of God in the faces of both campers and staff!
