Spring...and Summer!

The last month of spring was busy here at Camp Bighorn! We hosted our first family resiliency group, which blends many of our group facilitation and conflict resolution strategies with adventure for families looking to deepen their connection together. We also had a groups from teen and adult challenge and a therapeutic boarding school (Clearview Horizon) and put on two field trips for our local elementary school, grades kindergarten and third.

In addition to events, all of our staff took a week off to mentally, emotionally, and spiritually prepare for the summer season. The demands of the schedule for summer camps is huge, and this week of personal preparation is key to finishing the summer well. As the saying goes, "It's a marathon not a sprint."

On that note, summer is in full swing here already. School is out for Plains. Interns arrived May 31st, and summer staff arrive June 4th! We have a couple weeks of training; and then we jump into camps, kicking it off with day camp--our offering for our local elementary kids.
