Journey is Back!
ELE (Extended Leadership Expedition) Recap
21 days and 70+ miles of high desert plains, steep rocky canyons, an ancient lava flow, sun, rain and snow--these young people will never be the same! Extended time in the wilderness has a way of revealing deep truths about yourself and those you are with. The Journey students each had a chance to lead for at least two days; taking responsibility for the daily schedule, route navigation, and spiritual lessons aimed at transforming their lives as they pressed into knowing God personally, in community and through a deeper understanding of God's written Word. We are so impressed by the care and ownership they took in the responsibility to lead and teach well.
Every year, this 21-day backpacking trip is a transformative experience for the students. Not only does it allow them to slow down and focus on their relationships with God and others, it also challenges them physically and mentally. Some days are easy, and others are hard. At the end, they have accomplished an incredible goal, as well as grown as people.
