Fall 2023 - Journey

While slightly less busy than summer, fall is still a full season around here. The weather is beautiful, and it's a perfect time for retreats at Bighorn. We love hosting during this time of the year!

Journey has been in session for a little over a month. Each of their outdoor adventures are accompanied by a spiritual theme:

backpacking and identity in Christ

canoeing and leadership

rock climbing and trusting God

kayaking and identity in Christ (round 2)

adventure park and discipleship, as well as their practicum

Journey students are not only stretching themselves in the world of outdoor sports, but they are learning more about who God is and what that means for them personally.

For their practicum, Journey assisted leading a retreat for NELA. NELA is a group that has been coming here for the past few years, and they are a private leadership school. We enjoy hosting them!

Summer 2023 has come to a close! We have been so blessed here to be apart of the work God is doing through Camp Bighorn. This summer went very smoothly. We had an awesome summer staff and intern team to support our amazing Bighorn staff. With eight full weeks of camps, between our open enrollment and the groups we hosted, it has been busy! Bighorn Climbing Team

The Bighorn Climbing Team kicked off its first season, and it is a huge success! All four teams are full. Monday-Thursday, we have around 20 kids climbing our new rock wall and learning to belay. It's another great opportunity to pour into our community. On Fridays, we are hosting community drop-in climbing nights with an optional dinner for purchase. It's been amazing to see adults and kids from town here climbing, laughing, and interacting with our staff!
