Climbing Team

Our Climbing Teams are designed for participants third grade to adult! Experience onsite elements and to gain personalized training techniques. Teams will aim to foster a love for climbing and address the mental and physical challenges that climbing can present. Our community-minded emphasis develops climbers to support each other in becoming strong, responsible, and respectful ready to take on both climbing and other life challenges.

Our coaching staff seeks to meet climbers of all skill level, creating a fun space where they can realize their climbing goals, create friendships, and be challenged within a close community.

Warm Up & Gear Up
Going through a set up stretches and warm up techniques, discussing a team development thought of the day, and putting on harnesses and climbing shoes (if desired).
4:30 pm

Training on essential climbing techniques, including footwork, grip, and body positioning. And instruction on proper belaying techniques to ensure safety and build trust among team members.
5:40 pm
de-gear
Taking off harnesses, puting away climbing shoes, using the restroom if needed, and gathering backpacks and water bottles.

load up in vans
Driving into Plains to meet parents at the pick-up location.
6:00 pm
Parent Pick-up
Parents, remember to bring your ID to pick up your climber :)

Does the food taste good?

From all the compliments we receive about our Food Service, we can confidently say the food tastes great!

Do I need to have outdoor experience?

No! Our staff aims to make every adventure great, regardless of age or experience level.

What do I need to pack?

Great question. Packing lists vary by the time of year and corresponding adventures. Please contact us for the right list.

Can you accommodate for food allergies?

Camp Bighorn works hard to serve quality meals for all our guests. While it is our desire to meet every person's dietary needs, we are limited and can only guarantee accommodating dairy free, gluten free, nut free, and vegetarian diets. Dietary restrictions must be communicated in advance in order for our kitchen to plan adequately. For individuals with more restrictive diets, please contact our office to discuss alternatives.
