Kitchen Associate
Support the Food Services Director in preparing and serving meals for the various ministries at Camp and assist in maintaining the kitchen.

The Food Services team at Camp Bighorn is comprised of individuals who are committed to loving others through providing excellent meals and a hospitable environment in which both our guests and staff can prepare to step into adventure. The Kitchen Associate is a full-time, year round position. This individual supports the Food Services Director in preparing and serving meals for the various ministries at Camp and assists in maintaining the kitchen. These ministries include Winter, Spring, and Fall retreats, the Journey gap-year program (August – April), Summer programs (June – August), and other events as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a 2-year commitment.

- Obtain ServSafe certification, if not current
- Follow food safety practices
- Strong people skills: communication, conflict resolution, and a friendly demeanor
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in food service or interest in home cooking
FOOD SERVICES RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with or independently prepare, cook, serve, and clean up
- Assist with kitchen regular kitchen clean up as well as kitchen deep cleaning
- Assist Food Services Director with maintaining and storing the stock of food and kitchen supplies
- Lead other staff in food preparation, cooking, serving, and clean up
- Other food service related duties as assigned by Food Services Director
- Attend weekly food service meetings and bible studies
- Work 40-50 hours per week
GENERAL CAMP BIGHORN RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the Bighorn Community you will be expected to:
- Engage in regular times of Scripture reading and prayer
- Regularly and actively attend staff connection meeting
- Relationship is a vital aspect of our community and ministry at Camp Bighorn. As a member of the staff you will be expected to invest in relationships with the staff, campers, students, and interns
- Participate in staff trainings and staff retreats
- Assist other branches by helping with turnaround, dishes, kitchen help, retreat hosting, programming for retreats, etc
- Assist in driving when possible
- Raise the amount decided on for your salary by seeking out churches, organizations, and individuals willing to partner with you in ministry
- Submit to the leadership of the Executive Director and the Branch Director team
