Why I'm Here

In my time as a student and volunteer at Bighorn, I experienced the amazing possibility to step into life change and to learn about and encounter Jesus in the outdoors. After being able to walk alongside others myself, the Lord placed a desire on my heart to stay full-time at camp. I’m so excited for the opportunity to live out God’s calling for me to love and steward the next generation while here at camp!

Background

Growing up in Southern New Jersey, in what only a few know as the Pine Barrens, Jordan’s love for the outdoors began in a small one square mile lake community where he rode a bike to school, canoed to friends’ houses, and spent all summer on the 21 lakes found there. As a young adult, he worked at an outdoor adventure resort in Wisconsin for three years. While working there, he fell in love with high adventure sports and the opportunity to provide space for guests to have outstanding experiences outside, especially on the water. He then saw the potential to use outdoor recreation as a way to serve others in ministry, which led him to Camp Bighorn.

He first came to Camp Bighorn as a Journey student, eager to learn more about his relationship with the Lord and how to point others to Jesus through adventures. After Journey, he applied what he had learned as a summer camp intern. During that summer, he began full-time staff.

Summer Camp Director

I develop and shape the way our summer experiences are used to steward life change for our summer staff team, campers, guests, and volunteers. I am passionate about giving teens and young adults opportunities to lead and serve others! While I love all that Bighorn has to offer, I especially enjoy whitewater adventures.
