Jim & Rebecca Plantenberg

Why we are here

Why I am here

We have been donors to Camp Bighorn for many years. We both value the ministry of camp and the impact it makes in people’s lives. When the opportunity came up to be on staff, we were–and continue to be–excited to see what God will do through us here.

Background

Born in Helena, Montana, Jim moved to Southern California as a child and then later to Washington, where he eventually met Rebecca. They were both employed at World Vision, a Christian humanitarian aid organization. Montana has always been home to Jim; so he is very glad to be living in Plains! Rebecca grew up all over the world but spent her teen years in Nebraska. She looks back with fond memories of experiencing many different places. After graduating high school, her family moved to Washington. During these years, she traveled with Teen Missions to Greece; and ever since, she has felt God’s call towards ministry work. Rebecca's first introduction to Camp Bighorn was through a friend’s invitation to work weekend, and she returned for many future work weekends! Later, Jim Accompanied her and also fell in love with Bighorn.
