WHY I'M HERE
I first came to Bighorn as a middle schooler with my church’s summer camp. As I grew up coming here, I always felt loved and cared for by the Bighorn staff. Eventually, I became summer staff and a Journey student, where I grew immensely in my personal relationship with God and experienced His peace serving others through adventure ministry. Now, I am excited to share His overflowing love with others who were just like me!

Growing up in Western Washington, close to the mountains and lakes, created in Kendra an appreciation for the outdoors. Her grandparents traveled to many national parks, taking Kendra along with them; and her family enjoyed hiking and skiing. Once she got older, Kendra realized she loved being outside–regardless of the weather; so when she began job hunting as a high schooler, she naturally sought outdoor employment. This search led Kendra to a local pumpkin patch (where it rained most of her shifts) and the local ski hill she grew up on.
In addition to being outside, Kendra enjoys music; and she plays four instruments. She also really enjoys spending time with people. Skiing, snowboarding, and hiking continue to be some of her favorite outdoor activities.
Kendra’s love of people led her to be a small group leader with her church and a summer lead at Bighorn. Now, as Bighorn staff, this love of people continues to drive her ministry focus. She has been in many roles here–a camper, a church leader, summer staff, summer lead, Journey student. These varied experiences allow Kendra to connect with guests and campers, understanding their needs and experiences.
