Why we are here
Why I am here
I attended Bighorn as a camper, and watching others grow in confidence through adventure and time in community became a passion of mine. I get excited to create space to let people be known for who they really are and to grow as individuals. I feel called specifically to Bighorn because I have seen and personally experienced this community allowing people to be themselves. I am thrilled to be a part of it!
Background
Sophia was raised by a Jesus-loving family in Montana. Most of her summers were spent at her home ranch or way up in the backwoods while her father worked for the forest service. Growing up in the deep wild developed her comfortability with the outdoors. She is at home in the water, describing herself as a fish on land. Some of her hobbies include skiing, thrifting, and adventuring with friends! First coming to Bighorn as a camper at 14-years-old, she concluded that week determined to return. She spent two summers as volunteer summer staff and one as an intern. After high school, Sophia attended Journey for a year and then another as a Journey intern. Now, she is finally here to stay awhile!
