Why We're Here

We choose to work at Camp Bighorn because it connects with our heart and vision for investing in people. Our passion is to live with others who are following Jesus, growing as both disciples and leaders in the Kingdom of God. We are here to equip people who want to equip others.

Background

Adam leads young adults through Journey, an adventure based and experiential learning program designed to guide participants through their own discovery process and help them develop foundations essential to life, faith and leadership. Sheena oversees most of the marketing and logistics that are essential to the Journey program.

Adam has always loved being with people and after graduating from Bible college, he worked jobs in construction, camp ministry, adventure tourism and church ministry. While the outdoors have always been his happy place, he is thankful for the years of experience in different careers that developed many different skills, both indoors and out.

Adam Rice

Journey Director

Bighorn first impacted my life when I came as a high school camper, and it is a great joy to have God bring me and my family back here to Camp Bighorn.

I graduated from Multnomah University with degrees in Bible, Theology and Youth Ministry. In the years since graduation, I have applied that learning to both professional and volunteer ministries as well as general marketplace jobs. Each different job I held has taught me new ways to engage people in learning, leading and adventure and have given me a wide range of life experience and adventure skills.

Fun Fact

My backpacking trail name is Tinkerbell.

Sheena Rice

Journey Director

I work alongside my husband discipling young adults, teaching, and designing experiences for Journey. I have a degree in Bible, Theology, and Educational Ministry from Multnomah University and my family moved from Alaska to join the staff team at Camp Bighorn in 2017.

I've worked in the hospitality industry, as well as a variety of nonprofits and churches. In all of the roles I've held in previous jobs and volunteering, I've been teaching or training others to serve. I love helping people see their value and worth as God sees it. My favorite hobbies are crocheting, singing, and throwing themed costume parties.

Fun Fact

I like all things that sparkle!

Family

We were married in 2004 and have lived in Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Montana. We have two wonderful children, Zach and Sydney, who both love life at camp and have invested themselves in our family's ministry.
